=====================================================================II Introduction
=====================================================================
Legend Of Mana is a game where it has no story line and you can play it in any order you want in fact I think you can probably finish is in less then about 3 hours (I'll find out) As you probably know Legend of Mana is the sequel to Secret of Mana and Seiken Denestu 3. This game has great graphics, sound, game play, value, and is almost perfect. I've clocked it about 7-9 times. I am very lucky to own this game seen as I'm an aussie (Which might explain different spelling words) and it didn't co
me out here but my mums B/F bought it for me. Anyway this is my rating.
Graphics: 10 Sound: 7 Gameplay: 10 Value: 10 Overall: 9 1/2
=====================================================================
III Basics
=====================================================================
=====================================================================
a. Fighting
=====================================================================
The fighting in Legend Of Mana is better than most RPG's you can actually avoid taking damage as in most you stand there and get hit. You have two types of attacks power and weak. Weak is done with X and with most weapons you can press it consecutively 3 times. Power is pressed with square and is mostly used at the end of a combo. You can also equip either magic (they are called instruments) or Special Moves to R1 R2 L1 or L2. My opinion is to have 3 specials and 1 instrument. Also there is one
thing that annoys me, the fact that you can't run away. Also there is a special thing called synchro effects. They are things that do something special that other people can't although some people have the same. Also the good thing about this is that you can learn techniques like jump roll and etc.
=====================================================================
b. Land Creation
=====================================================================
In LOM you don't have a world map or anything like that instead you put down artefacts that turn into lands. The further you put the land away from your house the harder some things get. Also some events are required with a certain mana level. Also in land creating you can't put down an artefact without beating the boss of the dungeon first.

IV Main Characters
=====================================================================
Hero:
This character is either male or female. No matter what you choose it doesn't change a thing (although I think it changes there stats as in the male is a fighter type and the female is a mage although it hasn't been tested) I personally like the guy although when I first played I choose the girl. The hero no doubt has the best stats and you can probably clock the game alone with him/her.
Synchro: HP Recovery
Niccolo:
This thing (crossed between a rabbit and a cat or something) is a greedy self- cantered merchant. Fighting ways he isn't really that good he uses knuckles but doesn't take away very much.
Booklets Description: "A merchant whose family has been in business for generations. Has an affinity for money and his own unique set of values."
Weapon: Fists
STs: Lightning Kick,
Techniques: Somersault, Back-Roll
Special: A Gift For You
Synchro: Bonus lucre
Rating: 5/10
Reason: He is all right for a while but tends to get to weak to defeat enemies plus I think his greedy and he goes after my exp
Daena:
This fluffy cat is a soldier that is being trained she is linked with a group that involves Irwin Escad and Matilda She fights with a flail and is one of my favourite NPC's
Booklets Description: "A young soldier-in-training. She is currently looking for a way to save a friend in trouble."
Weapon: Flail
STs: Setting Sun, Psyclone, Back Slasher
Techniques: Push, Toss
Special: 'Round the World
Synchro: HP Recovery PLS
Rating: 8 and a half/10
Reason: She is good with her flail. She is also strong and fast with a good amount of HP.
Pearl/BlackPearl:
Ok this character just has to make things harder for you. She doesn't fight and she hogs all the experience all the time. But after a fair few events Black Pearl is introduced and she is basically the best NPC but she only transforms at boss battles. Pearl can't fight at all. Black Pearl uses a hammer.
Booklet Description: "A shy and gentle Jumi. She has tendency to become lost when deep in thought."
Weapon: Nothing/Hammer
STs:
Techniques:
Special:
Synchro
Rating: 4/10:
Reason: I don't like her that much because when she is Pearl she doesn't fight and she grabs the experience. But when she is Black Pearl she is good at both magic and fighting.
Elazul:
Elazul is the one of the first people you can use and particularly I think he sucks. I only use him when I have to. He fights with a one handed sword.
Booklet Description: "With piercing blue eyes and a cape of sand, this knight of Jumi makes a stunning impression. He is on a mission along with Pearl to find other allies. (But for what?)
Weapon: Sword
STs: Lai Strike, Bird of Prey, Cross Strike
Technique: Bash, Tackle
Special: Laser Blade
Synchro: Attack Gauge PLS
Rating: 3/10
Reason: I don't like him that much he is a little bit below the stats of an all rounder and is pretty weak because he is one of the 1st two characters you use.
Escad:
Ok this is my absolute favourite NPC. He uses a two handed sword and fights for him and his friends. Except I think he has to die in the progress of the game.
Booklet Description: "A man with a strong sense of justice, he will do anything to defend what he believes is right. He fights for the cause of justice with an overbearing sense of righteousness."
Weapon: Two-Handed Sword
STs: Rising Crush, DirtHarp, Tree Drum and Tree Flute
Technique: Crouch, Cheer
Special: None
Synchro: Spirit Plus
Rating: 9/10
Reason: He is great he is strong with high HP but not to good with magic, which is ok because, I prefer fighting more anyways. I just don't like the fact that he has to die.
Lisa:
Ok Lisa is basically an 8-year-old mage with a broomstick. How helpful can that be? Not very. I refuse to use her.
Booklet Description: "An elf twin and the older sister of Bud. Lost both parents in a magic experiment gone awry. She keeps her fathers broom as a memento."
Weapon: Broomstick (Staff)
STs: Halo, Goldflute, Firedrum and FireHarp
Technique: Cheer, Spin
Special: None
Synchro: Magic Plus
Rating: 3/10
Reason: Crappy mage that can't fight to well with crappy techniques and moves. If you can't beat anyone in Duel mode take her and knock her flat.
Bud:
Boy version of Lisa but with a frying pan.
Booklet Description: "Lisa's younger brother. A playful child and avid reader who idolizes magicians. He retains his mother's frying pan as a reminder of her."
Weapon: Frying Pan (Staff)
STs:
Technique:
Special:
Synchro:
Rating: 2/10
Reason: Same as Lisa but weaker.
Sierra:
You have to admit she just looks really cool huh? I use her when I play with a friend she uses knives and is my 3rd favourite NPC.
Booklet description: "A female dragoon in the service of the White Dragon. She has high expectations and hates to compromise."
Weapon: Knives
STs:
Technique:
Special:
Synchro:
Rating: 8/10
Reason: She is fast and powerful with her knives. If you are playing with a friend and don't have another hero data, choose her and you will make an invincible team.
Larc:
He is another dragoon. He is Sierra's brother and was banished to the under world but I don't know why yet and I don't think I will. E-mail me if you know why.
Booklet Description: "A young dragoon with intense feelings. His own impulsiveness leads him into great trouble."
Weapon: Axe
STs:
Technique:
Special:
Synchro:
Rating: 6/10
Reason: Not to great dies a lot average stats and is Sierra's brother.

V Walkthrough
=====================================================================
Starting Off:
Ok pick your character male or female. Your weapon and your land don't worry too much about any of this seen, as this is probably your first time through the game. (I choose the male the 2H Axe and put my area on the right side) Ok you wake up. You can save it here or put the 2P control on control mode cause it won't be to long until you get a second person. Get out of bed, admire the graphics then go down the stairs. To the left there will be a treasure chest with a 100 lucre. To the right is
a room with encyclopaedias head out the door and talk to the sproutling answer any option. Now go outside with the AF Colour Blocks. Put it anywhere unless you're reading a FAQ where it tells you to put it in a certain order. Go in to Domina and there will be an onion that looks like a pumpkin talking to Elazul. After they finish talking follow Elazul. As you try and enter the door Niccolo will walk out, ok now you have a choice. Go inside or follow Niccolo. Niccolo will lead you to the event N
iccolo's business unusual. Going through the door will lead you to The lost princess.
Ok I am going to go through the events in cactus diary order.
=====================================================================
1. Niccolo's Business unusual
=====================================================================
My Level: 1
NPC's: Niccolo
How It Starts: Talk to Niccolo in Domina at the market.
Requirements: Colour Blocks
Boss: Mantis Ant
Reward: Ironpot, greenball bun and a at 300. Also Flame and Medallion
Ok you got Niccolo now go back to the place where the onion and Elazul were talking. Go to the left next to the weapon store go inside and talk to Mark he will give you an equipment encyclopaedia then talk to teapo. After some dialogue you will get the "Broken Wheel" artefact. Go outside and put it down. Enter it. When you get there you will see Duelle the onion. Talk to him if this is your first time playing through. After talking to him go right. You will fight the first basic enemies. If you
want, level up and try and learn some techniques. Go left until you see a save point (Its gold and is the sprite from secret of mana). There should be a cat here called Daena talk to her and tell her that you have come to see wisdoms as this will lead to an event soon in the game. After you talked to her grab the chest behind the tree and keep going up unless you feel like you need to explore and level up. When you go up you should fight a chobin hood. After you fight it keep going right. Afte
r about 2 screens you should come to a chobin hood that wants money. Choose either option and you will fight a boss.
Boss Fight: Mantis Ant
Difficulty: 1
Moves I've Seen:
Ok this is easy just keep hitting him with your normal attacks try to make combos then when he starts flashing go down and then he will just attack straight forward. Use special attacks to kill him faster.
Life After Beating It: 100%
=====================================================================
2. Tiny Sorcerers
=====================================================================
My Level: 6
NPC's: None
How It Starts: Go through your door at home
Requirements: Niccolo's Business, Colour Blocks AF
Boss: Bud and Lisa
Reward: Apprentices
After it starts head to Domina. Go to the left and you'll be in the park go up and you can talk to the dopey pelican whose scared out of his mind if you really wanna. When you get to the western end of Domina you will see pumpkins all over the place and Bud being up himself Lisa will basically tell him to stop being cocky then there will be a boss fight.
Boss Fight: Bud and Lisa
Difficulty: 2
Move's Ive Seen: All different types of magic
I suggest that you go after Lisa first as she is easier and Bud has stronger magics she will just get in your way while fighting Bud as well. Bud isn't hard either It can just get annoying from this little pieces of shit. One of them does a magic that puts you to sleep.
Life After Beating It: 94%
=====================================================================
3. The Wisdom Of Gaeus
=====================================================================
My Level: 5
NPC's: Daena
How It Starts: You must of talked to Daena during Niccolo's Business Unusual and said I've come to see the wisdoms. Then go into the Domina inn and talk to her saying on the second option the spirit lives forever.
Requirements: Niccolo's Business, wheel
Boss: None
Reward: Forbidden Ring
Ok once you've got Daena go to the Luon Highway. Take the top boink. Go North East and keep following the path. If you've ever played final fantasy series you will recognize the chocobo. After about 2-3 screens you'll be at a huge rock face mountain watchamacallit thingy. He will tell you step closer and you should. (Square done great graphics with this animation and Trent) Daena will ask him about a friend is dying and he'll tell her do what her friend wants her to do etc etc (If you haven't b
een here before he'll tell you about your mana orchards) When their finished leave the screen and Daena will thank you by giving you a Forbidden Ring.

=====================================================================
My Level:
NPC's: Elazul
How It Starts: Go into the pub instead of following Niccolo and when Elazul and Rachel are arguing ask questions Rachel will give you a jade egg and then when you enter the mekiv caverns it will start
Requirements: None
Boss: Du'Inke
Reward: Stone Eye and Firefly Lamp
When you enter Elazul will be bragging about the greatness of Pearl or something annoying. Take the path that leads down. Go down the stairs and then left. You will fight a few enemies (which give rather a lot of exp for where you are) After 2 screens there will be a stair case going down Which will be in the SW corner. In this screen you should see a girl with red hair (I think if you do Niccolo's business first she's not there if she's not there just walk to the next room) talk to her and the
n Pearl will scream.
Boss Fight: Du'Inke
Difficulty: 1
Moves I've seen: Rock drop, Strong hit, And a breath which freezes people
This boss is easy keep pounding him and when he stops flashing and starts his attack run behind him and you won't get touched for any of his moves. Just do that for the whole fight.

8. Hunting Du'Cate
=====================================================================
My Lv: 6
NPC's: Not really needed.
How It Starts: Enter the jungle
Requirements: Medallion
Boss: Du'Cate
Reward: 500 lucre and Ancient Tablet
This jungle shits me. Ok 1st thing you need to find someone who can help you through the jungle. So go up and you should see sother bee go "Oh!" but don't worry if you wanna do it like that go back catch the lillipea then follow it to the next screen follow it etc takes ages so I recommend you just follow this. Now you should be in a place with faries so go up again. Now go right to the second opening where you can go down. Now you should see Skippie. Now go left again (Through the plants). Fig
ht the monsters and a penguin should come talk to her and she will cast a spell on you to see your way through the jungle. Now leave the screen and go back to the start so go left then left again now you should see Your fairie friends again. (Hopefully your still with me) Go right then right again you should see Hampton talking to himself. Follow him to the next screen and talk to him then follow. Skippie and Hampton will have a chat about making money off a different animal and Hampton will go
the wrong way when there finished go talk to Skippie then go up to the next screen. Talk to the pink tiger thing and he'll tell you walk with other people oh great who else whose in the forest that can actually help (Hampton and Skippie Out does sotherbee cause he can't do anything) go back a screen then turn left you should see a bunch of fairies which will send you back to the start. Go up and talk to Skippie and say "Work with him". Go right. Talk to Hampton and choose the same thing. Go ri
ght follow skippie go right another screen then just keep going right till you get to the boss.
Boss Fight: Du'Cate
Difficulty: 3
Moves I've Seen: Kick, Melon drop, Seed Spit, Melon throw
This boss can be hard when it wants to or it can be easy. It takes away enough life with an attack to do good damage. To make things worse he drops coconuts and you have about 10% chance of dodging it. The spitting seed thing is easy to avoid just walk around him and the coconut throw can't hit you if your standing next to him + he barely ever kicks.

10. The Gorgons Eye
=====================================================================
My Lv: 9
NPC's: You could take one I would suggest Elazul.
How It Starts: Enter Lake Kilma and talk to the penguins
Requirements: Gorgon Eye
Boss: Gorgon Eye
Reward: Granz Steel
Go to the left screen kill a bunch of pathetic monsters and proceed to the left. There will be a bunch of stoned penguins here. Go up then right. After about 3 seconds a turtle will ask you for a favour. Go help him up and he will ask you if you can see the fairies. Go up if you have done the monster corral or musical instruments 101. Just keep going right if not. Go a screen and you will see the pirates talking about how the captain is being a sissy. Now there will be a save point. Now go righ
t for 2 screens then go up and you will fight a Gray Ox. On the next screen you will see a faerie turning the captain to stone. Toto (the turtle) will be there jump down. When you are down there Toto will come up with a plan to bring out the gorgon eye and for the hero to fight it.
Boss Fight: Gorgon Eye
Difficulty: 3
Moves I've Seen: Spike Attack, Stone Beam, Spiral Ray and spike
He has an eye beam a spike attack and some fancy rays on the magical side. He can also poke you and go up and down (don't know if it deals damage) He also vanishes. This guy really isn't to hard just run to the opposite side of the screen say if he was SE go NW. The only move you should really watch out for is his eye beam because it can stone you.
Life Left: 13% (Don't worry the reason why I have little life is because I have to test his hits to see if there strong.)
=====================================================================
11. In Search Of Faeries
=====================================================================
My Level:

How It Starts:

12. Teatime Of Danger
=====================================================================
My Lv: 7
NPC: None
How It Starts: Enter the ruins
Requirements: Ancient Tablet
Boss: Count Douvla
Reward: Bottled Spirit and Torch Of Coral
I have no reason why this is called teatime of danger. You'll see Duelle when you enter. He'll tell you that Teapo walked off. Now we have to look for her. First go up. There'll be 2 lullabuds simple enough. Just follow the path. When your at the female flowerling turn left. You should be at a save point and a bunch of stairs. Go left. Then up. Talk to the flowerling and 2 others will fall down. They will look like this
X X
X Now you have to make it like this (Just talk to 'em) X
X X
Then go down past the flowerling and fight a rattler boa. Then walk through the gates and follow the path till you get to the telekinetic flowerling. Talk to him then head back to the X flowerlings. Now make them like look this.
X
X
X
Now go back to the gates and go down. You'll be at a structure. On the other side of it there will be a flowerling who will reveal a pathway. Go down it go 3 screens left and fight a boss.
Boss Fight: Count Duvoula
Difficulty: 3
Moves I've Seen: Defend, Flip-Kick, Punch, Bat Spear and Black Magic
I stood still for 2 minutes and she didn't even attempt to hit me 30 secs later she defended. She does a skull move, which took 13% from me. She is a magician type boss. Her special is a bunch of white bats that turn into spears. I tried to get hit by it by walking right into it and it went around me. After a while it hit me and took 37%. There are 2 physical attacks a flip kick and a punch.

Go in and you'll see the sproutling talk to it and it will run up and down about 7-8 times complaining about his stomach and run off. Go back to the cliff. The nun will tell Ruben to grab the popo bug off the sproutling for his petrified life but he won't want to because he doesn't wanna hurt anyone so he runs off. Go back to the temple and you will see a nun on the floor. Inspec
tor Boyd will come in and think it's a dead body. She will see that a sproutling made her fall and sprain her leg. Go back to the cliff. The nun says that she is going after the popo bug Rubens said he doesn't care. The nun says stuff about his wife and he says people don't get involved in his life and he won't get involved in theirs. The nun will stab him. She says she won't kill him if he can cry. He can't cry so the nun takes the core. She teleports off and the inspector comes and blames it
on you but Rubens says it wasn't then he walks off. Talk to Rubens and he will vanish. You will be in a room talking to boyd. He will ask you to help look. So go down to the start of Gato and go to the left dot. Ok great explaining this is gonna be damn hard. So here we go. Go left then down when you can. Go right then right again. Up the stairs. 2 times right again. Down the stairs. Go up then left. You should be out by now please be. (If not then go back to the start and follow the instructio
ns proply)Go up to the next dot. Walk past the waterfall to the next screen then through the door. Go up again and you will see Sandra get away. Boyd will get pissed off then the sproutling will be happy that his stomach don't hurt anymore and boyd will tell him to shut up.

Go back to start of Lumina and go to the dot on the left. Talk to the guy who looks like a jigsaw puzzle he'll ask if you wanna learn the dudbear language tell him "Teach Me". How It Starts: Walk into Domina you'll see yourself torturing sproutlings.
Requirements: Tiny Sorcerers, Shade Lv 3
Boss: Shadow Zero-One
Reward:
Talk to the sproutling it will run off because it's afraid of you. Go to the market (You have to go the long way) You'll see yourself picking the leaves of another sproutling and walk off. Talk to the sproutling and he'll run away. Next go to Teapo's house. The onion and Teapo will talk he will ask for pumpkins but Teapo will refuse it not getting anywhere Duelle threatens her with an anthill on her back so she starts crying and give hm the pumpkins. (Don't bother talking to her she'll be talki
ng to her self) Go out and you'll see your self not taking the leaf of a sproutling because of green sap coming out of it he'll walk towards the park of the mana angel so follow him. Head for the western section of Domina.
Boss Fight: Shadow Zero-One
Difficulty: 4
Moves I've Seen: Jump kick, Punch and a star
Ok for some reason this time around when I fought him....... HE WAS SO HARD. With a punch he took away 11% with a fly kick he took 20% so 5 hits I'm dead. I actually died on him. Defend doesn't work very well. You use it and it undefends before it hits you. And you can't predict when his gonna hit you with a punch. I would suggest taking Retreat and Crouch. He was on level 10 and I was on level 6. Which made it harder

Boss: None
Reward: Sword Of Mana!!!
Head for your workshop. Nunuzac and some lady floating in the air will be talking about a sproutling that is trapped somewhere but he needs to raise the tree of mana but nunuzac won't allow it. When they stopped talking walk outside to find Pokhiel. He will ask you if you want to join them I choose no. Walk inside when I got inside Pokhiel said he will support Nunuzac in what ever he wants even if it is to destroy the world.When Pokhiel walks away talk to Nunuzac and then you'll be teleported t
o a cave. Head left. Then in the next screen you will be facing the right. So go that way. You will fight three more groups of enemys before reaching a sproutling. You will instantly run over there and help him. After that a voice will start talking to you and you will be awarded THE SWORD OF MANA. A little not about the sword of mana is that where you place it next to something the things around it will get the essences up max for all.

IX Golems
=====================================================================
Golems I don't really like but I'm just adding this for my FAQ. Be warned they cost heaps of money and are hard to make.
The answers to the professor's questions are here and so is the encyclopaedia:
Chapter 1 Golem's Composition
"Q What are the necessary components? A: A completed body and logic blocks. The body of the golem determines its power level, and the logic blocks provide the action patterns of the weapons it equips."
Chapter 2 Golem's Body
"Q: What makes up the golem's body? A: At least one weapon or piece of armour. A golems body is made by combining a lifeball with one weapon and up to three pieces of armour. It's performance and characteristics parameters reflect those of the materials."
Chapter 3 Logic Blocks
"Q: What makes up a logic block? A: Two piece's of equipment. Choose two piece's of equipment from your list of armour/ weapons or instruments. Each block provides certain action pattern for a golem."
Chapter 4 Logic Grid
"Q: What determines the size of the logic grid? A: The number of armour pieces used for the golems body. The larger the grid, the more logic blocks it can hold, for a larger variety of golem actions."
Chapter 5 Golem's Action:
"Q: What determines a logic blocks type? A: The combination of its components. Try different equipment combinations to create blocks you want for desired action patterns of your golem."
Chapter 6 Logic Types
"Q: What determines a logic block's shape? A: The combination of its components. All logic blocks have one of 11 shapes, and each blocks effectiveness derives from the components' parameters."
Chapter 7 Attack Types
"Q: What determines the golems attack mode? A: The type of the weapon used for the golems body. Some blocks cannot be assigned to a golem if the blocks attack type differs from the golems attack type."
Chapter 8 Attack & Defense Level
"Q: What determines golem attack and defense levels? A: The characteristics of the weapons and armour used. Golem parameters such as HP, attack and defense, and element levels, are determined by the components used to make its body. This does not include logic grid size and rate of malfunctioning."
Chapter 9 Malfunction rate
"Q: How is the malfunction rate determined? A: The number of armour pieces used as components. The higher the percentage shown on the menu screen, the more frequently the golem fails to deliver an attack. If one action fails, actions connected by wedge-marks also failed to deliver."
Chapter 10 Choices Of Action:
"Q: How does a golem decide which action to take? A: By reffering to its action gauge and calculating the distance of the enemy. The logic grid has two axis. One is the action gauge, and the other is the distance between the golem and the enemy."

XIII Magic
=====================================================================
In legend of mana the way you use magic is through instruments. Each different instrument has elemental essences. Some magic's are good while some are crap. Instruments can be made through a workshop. Although I think the best magic has the power of 113 or something.
Here is my Harp magic:

Here is my Flute magic
Name Element: Fire: Power:
Here is my Drum magic
Name Element Fire: Power:
Here is my Marimba magic:
Name Element Fire: Power:
Instruments are also used for catching spirits, which make great weapons and armour. They also make better instruments.
The spirits names are:
Name: Element: Description:
Salamander Fire "Spirit Of Fire"
Dryad Trees "Spirit Of The Trees"
Gnome Earth "Spirit Of Earth"
Aura Material "Spirit Of Gold"
Shade Dark "Spirit Of Darkness"
Wisp Light "Spirit Of Light"
Undine Water "Spirit Of Water"
Jinn Wind "Spirit Of Wind"
You find spirits where you find eggs.

XV New Game+
=====================================================================
After you have finished the game beat the mana goddess and all that stuff and watched the movie and credits it will ask you if you want to save the game. Save your game but not over your old file.
When you load that game it will ask you where you want to start off when you continue the game you will have all your old stats, items etc. there will also be a new encyclopaedia. I suggest you read it it's called The Forbidden Tome. These are your questions
Do you want peace? Yes= Put book away No = Get asked the next question
Do you want a nightmare? Yes = read below No = Next question
Do you want a future? Yes = Put book away No = Read below
No Future Mode = All Monsters Lv99 (Or though for some strange reason some appear on Lv 86)
Nightmare Mode = All Monsters +Lv30 or so since last time
Normal Mode = Same as last time.
If you thought normal was to easy (like me) put it on no future mode. Also in no future mode you get rarer items for weapons, armour etc.

XVI Hints and Tips
=====================================================================
This part is just stuff that should help you during the game or make it more fun.
Play 2P with other hero:
(Go to the church in domina ask him about fighting then 2P he'll tell you about a house in the centre of Domina go there and it will ask you what file you want to load)
Duel:
You can verse an NPC or a friend. All you have to do it is build Geo go in the mansion and go down to the bottom floor.
Always feed your pets:
Feed them so that they grow up stronger an hopefully there stats get maxed out.
Get equipment from friends file.
After you have completed infernal doll and proffesser bombs lab. Go back and talk to Bomb and he will tell you about pawn shop.
Anymore tips you think I should add send me an email.
