-Extra options menu:

Press L1, L2, R1, or R2 at the options screen to display an extra 

options menu 



-Beginner fighting difficulty setting:

Intentionally die twice during game play under the normal fighting 

difficulty setting. The fighting difficulty setting can now be set 

to "Beginner" in the extra options menu.



-UFO ending:

Successfully complete game and unlock the Princess Heart costume 

and the Heather Beam weapon. The Heather Beam is a special weapon 

which you can only use if Heather or Cheryl is not holding any 

weapon. Defeat all monsters and Bosses using only the Heather Beam. 

Note: The "Monster defeated" counter should read 0 kills.



-Earn Possessed Ending 

To acquire this ending, you must kill over 100 enemies (displayed 

on the Results screen). You must also acquire 1000 points of 

damage, so let every monster in the game hit you once. Forgive the 

person in the confession box, as well. Since you'll spend much of 

the game being a vicious killer, the very fitting Possessed Ending 

ensues after the final battle. This cannot be acquired on the first 

playthrough, and is best tried at in Normal or Hard Mode, with the 

Unlimited Submachine Gun.  



-Unlock up to ten Extreme Action Mode games:

Finish the game in hard action mode to unlock Extreme Action Mode 1 

(an increased difficulty mode). Finish Extreme Action Mode 1 to 

unlock Mode 2, etc. Continue doing this until you unlock the last 

one, Extreme Action Mode X. If you finish this last mode you will 

be rewarded with the God Of Thunder T-shirt.



-Pause canceling:

Almost all action scenes can be canceled (such as when you are 

going up or down from an elevator) with Start. However, there is a 

point in the final area where the lift scene can be canceled



-Extra scenes 

First, use a memory card with at least one finished saved game file 

from Silent Hill 2. New interactions with some objects and new 

scenes will now be available. These scenes are similar or with some 

type of reference to the previous game. For example, Heather trying 

to look for something stuck into the toilet in the mall 



-Extra costumes (PAL)

Once you finish the game, and get the ''extra costumes'' option you 

can enter these passwords there:

-Douglas Wearing Y-Fronts 

Beat the game then highlight New Game (Extra) and enter the old 

Konami code (press UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, 

CIRCLE, X). Select your difficulties and a sound will verify the 

code. Douglas will be sans pants when you see him through the game. 



-Extra Weapons 

You can unlock various weapons upon completion of the game. 



-Flamethrower 

Kill more enemies by shooting with ranged weapons than by fighting 

with melee weapons. You can unlock the flamethrower the sure fire 

way by clearing the game twice. 



-Beam Sabre 

Kill more enemies by fighting than shooting. This weapon turns into 

the Sexy Beam when you have the transform costume equipped. 



-Gold & Silver Pipes 

Throw your steel pipe into the sewers and answer the three 

questions as follows: No, No, Yes. 



-Extra Weapons One More (JP Version) 

Heather Beam / Sexy Beam 

Accumulate a total of 333 enemy kills. (Accumulate in one 

playthrough or multiple playthroughs. Boss enemies included.) 

The Heather Beam turns into the Sexy Beam when you have the 

Transform Costume equipped. 



-Heather Beam

Complete the game once on the Hard difficullty setting.



-Infinite SMG ammo 

Defeat the final boss with a melee weapon. 



-Unlock Life Display Option 

Beat the game on Hard Mode. The Life Display appears in the Extra 

Options. It shows how much health Heather has left before dying, 

and does it more accurately than the normal display bar.  



-References To SH2 

Using any memory card with a finised/game cleared file from Silent 

Hill 2 will cause some retroactive interactivity when Heather 

investigates some areas of the game.
